	Rechenzentrums new full lenght album 'The John Peel Session' goes far beyond their debut. The ten track records features their BBC/JOHN PEEL SESSION and supplies the the mostly abstract, multi-layered video and futuristic soundscape and rhythm-patterns between post-techno, house and experimental electronica. This time Berlin's Lillevan & Marc Weiser brake with their dependence upon 4/4 techno rhythms; instead they explore new kinds of hybridity, from gritty dub overlaid with inky trumpet to ominous, beautiful cinematic ambiance interleaving a string quartet with the rushing of a freeway. And yet, there's enough boompty to keep your inner DJ happy. Finally, a movie included o the cd gives viewers an idea of what Rechenzentrum's live show is like, with a technicolor lattice of flickering lines morphing in sync with the track's dubby bounce. Here's some irrepressible digital knocking, whirring and purring provideing the ideal soundtrack for the anarchistic robot performance. Halleluja!

Sounds and rhythms become protagonists, creating barely resolverd tensions and evoking scenesof subdued menace. There´s something inherently alive about these recordings. Even the harder minimalist beats of Vertical" and Norden" have something quick and elusive about them. Catch them while they´re still in flight.

thats what i think about the john peel session LP (abc@cba.de) aus stultus i am supposed to review the kitty yo release i hate most. well, you cannot actually say "hate" but this is the kitty yo output i like least. besides the great cover, none of the tracks make me feel good or excited. of course, you can say "it's minimal techno! you've got to understand it!" but actually i i like minimal techno and there are much greater sounds than those endless monsters of gloomy and colourless tracks!

thats what i think about the john peel session CD (torben@bluenine.org) aus Torben This is just an amazing album ! Some of the best minimal electronica to be found, this album has it all: Haunting voices, droning sounds, bumping beats and a scary atmosphere.
