thats what i think about higher planes CD (peterd@lipsynpost.co.uk) aus
This album is good but is def a shift away from the earlier tones of his other work.eg organism which has to be one of my favourite jimi albums. It seems jimi is becoming more a jazz funk purist as time goes on. I saw him for the second time last night at the jazz cafe (london) and with an ever expanding line up his big band approach seems to be increasing with time. He played a few tracks off this album but finished with sugardaddy which goes to show how in touch with his audience he is, as it was a big hit in london at time of original release. |

When I was in Pudel Club, at my Birthday , Jimy plays live! but not only for me*smile
However, I liked him very well - until this "Higher Planes" Album. I don't no realy why? Maybe it's all too much! So I'll give this CD away (on my Friend' Birthday)
Sorry Jimi |

From jingle to soundtrack (arturoucha@yahoo.es) aus Arturo (Spain)
First time I saw Jimi Tenor he was playing on a german music TV program. His voice sounds across a curious effect microphone and he was rounded by girls -on the bass and drums-. Since, I've heard much from him: "Take me baby", "It happens every night", "Can't stay with you", "My mind", "Spell", "Moonfolks"... I mean, Jimi hide -or not- a lot of faces, and I'm finding new jewels in the beautifully manufactured record of Kitty-yo. Thanks, Jimi: you were saying the truth when you said you'll include lyrics on net. Good luck in your big band adventure. |

REVIEW for UK mag UNCUT
accomplished seventh album from finnish multi instrumentalist after years composing cosmic space rock infused with drum machines. synthesizers and vocoders. JIMI TENOR has decided to go back to his roots and make a seriously funky jazz album with real instrumentation and live recordings. its an ambitious move that could easily have backfired on him. but the fusion of 60s free jazz. 70s psyche and 80s soul has resulted in his most satisfying and fully realized album to date.
