Die Compilation, mit der das Kitty Yo-Sublabel Kyo vor zwei Jahren gestartet wurde, geht in seiner Vol.2 einen weiteren Schritt voraus. Bestand die erste Zukunfts-Rückschau noch hauptsächlich aus einer Reihe von europäischen Protagonisten, die sich auf dem Experimentierfeld elektronischer HipHop-Interpretationen bewegten, ist die neue „Futurism“ zunächst deutlich von U.S.-Rap-Größen wie Slum Village, Quasimoto, Prince Po oder Sole geprägt. Diese Namen sind es dann auch, die das gereimte Wort deutlicher in den Mittelpunkt stellen, und die beiden instrumentalen Tracks von Forss (leider auch schon etwas betagt) und NQ in den Hintergrund rücken. Erst die zweite Hälfte führt wieder zurück auf die Wurzeln der Compilation-Idee zwischen Blip Hop, Indie-Rap und linksfeldigen Funk-Wissenschaften. Etwa mit dem großartigen, bislang unveröffentlichten „I Deez“ von 8Bit, oder dem rockigen Sample-Track „Rock On“ von Jackson And His Computer Band. Das Instrumental des Dabrye-Remixes von Bus, die Anticon-Helden Pedestrian sowie das krachige „Central Park“ von General Electrics runden den Endspurt schlüssig ab. Alles in allem eine Compilation, die einen ziemlich guten Überblick darüber gibt, wer außer von J Dilla und Timbaland sonst noch alles an dem arbeitet, was nach HipHop von morgen klingt.
